Pike County District Attorney Gary McAliley has announced the suspect of Saturday’s hit and run has still not been taken into custody.
Major Wilber Singleton II was the alleged driver of an accident that critically injured an elderly Mobile couple Saturday afternoon before he left the scene of the wreck on foot.
Since, local law enforcement have been in pursuit of Singleton, who witnesses say may have been intoxicated.
They are asking anyone with information to assist in his arrest by contacting the Pike County District Attorney’s Office at 566-6896 or the Troy Police Department at 566-0500 or Secret Witness Line at 566-5555.
McAliley also said they have information on some who may have harbored Singleton in his escape, and arrests will be forthcoming.
“We have additional information on some people who have assisted him and are assisting him, and we expect additional charges to be forthcoming,” McAliley said.
