Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Highway 231 South Saturday. The wreck occurred around 1:15 Saturday afternoon. Two vehicles were involved in the wreck.

The driver and passenger of a black Nissan Altima were hospitalized in unknown condition.

According to witness reports, a third person, the driver a white Chevy Lumina, made a phone call and took off through the woods. As of 4:00 p.m., Saturday, authorities were still searching for him.

The wreck is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
