Funeral services for Laura Tarver Bennett will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at
Outreach Endtime Deliverance Church, Troy, Alabama, with Bishop W. C. Scott officiating and G e o r ge F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Banks, Alabama.
Laura Tarver Bennett was born the fourth child of the late George Washington Tarver and the late Laura Mae Tarver on February 27, 1959.
She received Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. L. C. McMillian at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
She received a formal education at Bullock County High School in Union Springs, Alabama.
She met and married J. D. Bennett in February 1980 and to this union two children were born. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the 1980s.
She departed this life on December 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents,
George and Laura Mae Tarver, and two brothers, George Tarver and George Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted husband, J. D. Bennett; her children, Tymaine Tarver, and Jacqueline Bennett; her sisters and brothers, Ella (Willie) Fountain, Georgia Tarve r, Bernice
(Bobby) McClendon, Glory Tarver, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Sara (Sam) McLemore, Montgo m e ry, Alabama, Shelly (Elvin) Means, Evtan, Alabama, and Willie Tarver, Macon, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Alma (Raymond) Gibbs and Dorothy Scott-Flowers; her grandchilden, Zion Lew i s, Jalen and Pierce Tarver, Zauri Tarver, Averyanna McBurrows, and Amaree Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and other very devoted friends.
