James Phillips

Mr. James Roy Phillips age 71 of Elamville died Wednesday, Dec. 24,2008 at his residence in Elamville. Mr. Phillips was a life-long resident of the Elamville area where he owned his own trucking company and was a cattle farmer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at Emanuel Baptist Church in Elamville. Rev. Rusty Norton and Rev. Kenneth Earls officiated.
Special music was provided by daughter Trudi Mallard, granddaughter Kristi Hughes and special Jerry Willoughby. Burial followed in the Elam Cemetary with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing.
Pallbearers include Curtis Garner, Bobby Pelham, Carl Price, Jack Teal, Dwight Teal, Delbert Phillips, Guy Flawson and Justin Roy Harold.
Survivors include, his beloved wife of 43 years Janice Stafford Phillips of Elamville, son, Phil Hunt Phillips of Van Cleve, Miss., daughters and sons-in-law Sheryl (Dennis) Harrell of Van Cleve, Miss., Trudy (Doug) Mallard of Elamville, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents Roy Cecil and Elizabeth Doster Phillips, and one sister.
