Sadie Jeffcoat Dennis, 99, of Panama City, FL, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at a Panama City nursing facility. She was born Nov. 9, 1909, to Thomas and Elizabeth Jeffcoat. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Pierson and husband Julian, of Lynn Haven, FL, grandchildren, Kim Sanders and husband Marlin, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, J. Andrew Pierson, III and wife Kim of Finksburg, MD, Melissa Priebe and husband Scott, of Millersville, MD and eight great grandchildren. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City and the Wesley Bible Class. She was a former member of the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club. She served on the boards of the Salvation Army, the Girl Scout Council and was secretary of the Gulf Coast Community College Foundation receiving the Doctor of Philanthropy Award in 1982. Graveside services will be held at Wingard Family Cemetery in Goshen, AL on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with her nephew, the Rev. Malcolm Larkin, officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to the Gulf Coast Community College Foundation, the Salvation Army or to a charity of your choice in memory of Sadie Dennis.
