Brundidge residents will have a formal chance to say goodbye to their long-serving councilwoman Isabell Boyd.
On Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m., the Brundidge Business Association, the city of Brundidge and the Pike County Training Hillcrest Reunion Group will hold a reception to honor Boyd’s 22 years of service.
The event will take place at Brundidge Station, and everyone is invited to attend.
“We wanted to just show our appreciation in what she has done to help the city and help the BBA in all the different projects we have going on,” said BBA President Lamar Steed.
Steed said in her time on the council, Boyd was dedicated to assisting the BBA with projects.
In years past, some of the things she has accomplished was helping start the Brundidge Halloween Carnival and the Santa Claus program to assist families in need at Christmas time.
And on a personal level, Steed said Boyd has been a pleasure to work with.
“I’ve been knowing Ms. Boyd for a long time,” Steed said. ‘She was very good for the council for the years she was involved.”
