Keith Caldwell grew up in Salem Baptist Church in Brundidge. He will return to Salem on Sunday night to present a music concert of original and familiar songs.

The concert will be at 6 p.m. and the public is invited.

“Keith Caldwell is a Christian singer and he is coming home to Salem Baptist Church for this concert,” said Kevin Davis, Salem associate pastor. “We are excited to have Keith with us. He will sing some of the songs that are familiar to all of us as well as some of his original music.”

Caldwell graduated from Troy University with a double major in music and theater in 1979. He put himself through college in part by working as the minister of music at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Troy. He has served as leader of the praise and worship team at Christian Life Center in Houston. In 2002, Caldwell completed a master of fine arts in acting at the University of Houston and continued his graduate studies with a voice scholarship, working towards a master’s in music.

Caldwell recently finished recording his debut Gospel album titled “A God of Second Chances.” His first single from the album, “If Christ Was Never Born,” has already hit the radio waves and has been submitted to more than 500 radio stations nationwide.

He is currently performing a concert tour to promote “A God of Second Chances.”

The promotional tour has taken him to Branson, Mo., and landed him a spot as a featured singer on a Carnival Cruise.

Davis said Caldwell was recommended to him by several members of the congregation.

“He was widely recommended and someone brought me one of Keith’s CDs,” he said. “I listened to it and liked what he was presenting. So, I decided to bring him here. I think that everyone will be blessed by his concert.”
