Edgar Whitehurst

Edgar Earl Whitehurst, 84, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Funeral services will be Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Michael May officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery in Troy at 3:30 PM.
Mr. Whitehurst loved to go hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a veteran of the Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from the State of Alabama, Department of Transportation after 37 years of service and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kirby and Effie Whitehurst. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margaret Law Whitehurst, daughter Susan M. Curlee and husband Allen, son William H. “Bill” Miller, brother Melvin Whitehurst and wife Retha, grandchildren Christi Curlee Colquett and husband Joey, Craig Curlee and wife Brooke, Casey Curlee and wife Brittney and Deanna Nicole Martin and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Law, Freddie Daughtry, David Law, Buggy Carr, Duane Cook, Tommy Hamn and Jeff Kervin.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Leak-Memory Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Leak-memory Chapel Directing
