Local law enforcement agencies are investigating several burglaries and a robbery that occurred over the weekend.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said his department is investigating an armed robbery that took place around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night at Hill Mart Store in Springhill.

“The clerk was in the store, and two male subjects entered, one armed with a shotgun,” Thomas said.

Cash and cigarettes were reported stolen after the two subjects fled from the scene.

Thomas said no one was injured in the incident.

Troy Police are also investigating five burglaries from the weekend.

Homes were burglarized off of Dozier Drive, Second Avenue, Elm Street and one in Sunset Mountain Mobile Home Park. In addition, a storage unit on Park Street was reported burglarized, as well.

Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough said the cases are undergoing investigation, and they have not determined whether they are related.

“Each and everyone of these are under investigation by our department, and at this time we are looking to determine if these are connected,” Scarbrough said. “We at this time don’t have any reasons that have shown us they are.”

Thomas and Scarbrough ask anyone with information to contact the respective departments.
