Sue Tatom Steed, a resident of Brundidge passed away September 26, 2008 at Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood, Texas. She was born January 27, 1933 in Banks to Clem David and Bessie Wood Tatom. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Veron Steed; a daughter, Melissa Sue Mackros and husband, Karl Mackros; one grandson, Alec Mackros; one sister, Ann Powell and husband John Powell of Atlanta, Georgia and one brother, Sherroll Tatom and wife Irene Ashworth Tatom of Brundidge.
She was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She spent her adult life as a teacher in the Pike County School system. She touched the lives of so many children during the 33 years she taught in Pike County.
Honorary pall bearers are Windley W. Tatom, Lamar Tatom, Mike Tatom and Vernon Jackson.
The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held at Brundidge United Methodist Church Tuesday, October 14th at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation will follow immediately in the fellowship hall of the church.
