USTA First Round results

The first round of main draw has come to a completion in the main draw portion of the USTA Tennis Classic of Troy. One of the more notable happenings of the day was the elimination of Coco Vandeweghe. Vandeweghe made her way through the qualifying rounds in swift pace to earn her spot in the main draw. Vandeweghe won the U.S Open Jr. Championship against Gabriela Paz. Paz was also eliminated on Wednesday.

Singles results from the remaining first round matches on Wednesday are as follows:

Second-seeded Olga Puchkova defeated Megan Moulton-Levy 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Ana Savic defeated Coco Vandeweghe 6-4, 6-3.

Petra Rampre defeated Kimberly Couts 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Anna Tatishvili defeated seventh-seeded Tetiana Luzhanska 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

Abigail Spears defeated Lindsay Lee-Waters 6-2, 6-3.

Shenay Perry defeated eighth-seeded Sunitha Rao 6-1, 6-1.

Lauren Embree defeated Yulia Fedossova 1-6, 6-3, 5-0 (Ret.).

Sixth-seeded Nueza Silva defeated Alexandra Stevenson 6-4, 5-1 (Ret.).

Georgie Stoop defeated Gabriela Paz 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.

Doubles results from the remaining first round matches on Wednesday are as follows:

Lindsay Lee-Waters and Melanie Oudin defeated Catalina Castano and Olga Puchkova 6-2, 6-3.

Brittany Augustine and Jennifer Elie defeated Yayuk Basuki and Romana Tedjakusuma 6-3, 6-4.

The second-seeded team of Angela Haynes and Sunitha Rao defeated Sandy Gumulya and Tetiana Luzhanska 6-0, 7-5.

The second round of main draw in both doubles and singles begins today at 10 a.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex in Troy.
