Troy man arrested in moonshine case
A Troy man was arrested last week after 19 gallons of moonshine were found on his property.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said around 11 a.m. last Thursday, a search warrant was served at Lot 5 of Southland Trailer Park in Troy, and when deputies arrived, they located 19-gallons of moonshine and several other items associated with it in the owner’s storage shed.
On Friday, Thomas said Jamie Vongail Thomas, 30, was taken into custody at the Pike County Jail on charges of possession of moonshine. The suspect was released on bond later that day.
Thomas said along with the moonshine, 15 empty containers with moonshine remnants, eight propane bottles and three 25-pound bags of sugar were also seized by the Pike County Sheriff’s deputies.
