Pike County High School head volleyball coach Kasey Parker got a good effort from her girls Tuesday night in Brundidge, but the Lady Bulldogs fell 3-0 (18-25, 15-25, 12-25) to the Straughn Lady Tigers in area play at home.

“Straughn has a very strong team and they should win our area,” Parker said. “We played well, but all their girls can jump and attack the net and we just don’t have a lot of heighth on our team.”

Parker said the Lady Bulldogs received strong serving performances again from Kaitlyn Allen and Rebecca Parker. Anna Archmont led the way with eight digs in the match.

“Our girls did well and I cannot be upset with them,” Parker said. “Straughn is just a very good team. We are looking forward to our match Thursday with Goshen. They beat us the first time we played this year, but we are much improved since then.”

The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Eagles clash Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the JV match in Goshen.
