Trojans finish third at cc meet

Charles Henderson High School hosted a cross-country meet on Thursday. Teams competing were from Charles Henderson, Northview, Enterprise, Carroll, Eufaula and Providence Christian high schools.
The Trojans finished third overall on the boys’ side, and the girls’ didn’t have enough runners to be eligible for a final place.
Twelve Trojan boys ran in the race. Their times are listed as follows: Nick Mobley 20:30 (fifth overall), Lloyd Schillibeer 22:01 (ninth overall), Justin Upshaw 22:31, Michael Salmon 22:45, Douglas McLendon 23:20, Jeb Sharp 23:24, Brodrick Foster 25:39, Christian Carswell 25:48, Scott McLendon 26:50, Clayton Baker 26:52 and Mitchell Mobley 30:33.
Sharlie Brooks finished sixth overall with a time of 24:39, and Brooke Hudson finished with a time of 40:11. Jessie Morgan got hurt and did not finish.
“This was their first time running the long course, and it was tough,” Trojan coach Steve Haug said. “They’re pushing themselves and getting better. They are working hard.”
Enterprise won the girls side of the meet and Northview took the top spot on the boys’ side.
