Walter James Henderson

Mr. Walter James Henderson was born the child of J. C. Henderson (deceased) and Dora Mae Henderson (deceased) on September 8, 1951. He received Christ under the leadership of Rev. Dixon at the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

He met and married Betty Passmore on November 24, 1990.

He was a U. S. Marine Veteran and received awards and achievement during his tour of duty:

The Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Rep u blic of P h i l i p p i n e s Presidential Unit Citation; and Rifle Marksman Badge.

Other achievements were his love for fishing and hunting; he served as President of the &#8220Double Ought Buck”Hunting Club.

He loved dealing with nature and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Nellie Bell Jefferson, and his parents, J. C. and Dora Mae Henderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

a loving and devoted w i f e, Mrs. Betty Henderson; two sons, Keith (Tina) Jo n e s, Brundidge, AL, and Walter Henderson, Jr., Montgomery, AL; three daughters, Sharonda (James) Youngblood, Indianapolis, IN, E m i ly Henderson, Montgo m e ry, AL, and Angela (Sherr e l l ) Brown, Troy, AL; three sisters, Mary Etta Duncan, Troy, AL, Jewell (George) Roundtree, Adelphia, MD, and Dorthy (Jerry) McBride, Troy, AL; one brother, Jimmie (Cynthia) Henderson, Decatur, AL; nine grandchildren; eight nieces; three nephews; two devoted friends, Mr. Leo Forbish and Mr. Michael Baker; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
