Mr. Joe Calvin McLeod age 87 of Goshen died Saturday, in Birmingham. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend W.O. Sanders, Reverend Malcolm Butts and Mr. Raymond Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the Darien Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by: his wife of 62 years Montez S. McLeod, Sister Lucy Williamson of Goshen, Son and Daughter-In-Law Curtis and Gloria McLeod of Grady, Grandchildren Jeff and Vonda McLeod of Montgomery, Brooke and Danny Burks of Grady, 2 Great Granddaughters Tannar and Raegan Burks of Grady and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by: a brother Marx McLeod and a dear nephew Terrell Williamson.

Mr. McLeod was a member of the &uot;Greatest Generation&uot;. He proudly served his country during World War II in the army air corps.

He was stationed in Italy and the Mediterranean.

Mr. McLeod worked in the hardware and building supply business for many years and later retired with the State ABC board.

He was well known throughout his life for his dedication to his family and his love of horses and &uot;Horse Folks&uot;.

Active pallbearers will be: James Carlisle, Leon Flowers, David Hubbard, Kenneth Rhodes, Jerry Seymour, and Henry Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Hurley and Billy Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Darien Church Cemetery Fund, 2083 Star Hope Church Road, Luverne, Al 36049.
