Joe Nathan Ward
Services for Joe Nathan Ward who died Aug. 17, 2007, at the University of Alabama hospital in Birmingham will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Linwood with the Rev. Larry G. Bland officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ward was born June 8, 1942. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the city of Troy after 30 years.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Dan Ward; mother, Minnie Lee Ward; brother, Bobby Ward; and a sister, Lillie Mae Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, SFC Shirley Ward-Dover E7 (Willet West); three grandchildren, Jah'Melia Boyer, Kialana Boyer and Marcus Boyer all of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; brother, Eddie and Laura Ward of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brother-in-law, O.T. Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale; seven sisters, Catherine and Forrest Bryant, Wannie Ward, Emma and Charles Williams, Helen and Freddie Lewis and Hattie Arnold; brother-in-law, (Donald Arnold) Annie Siler, brother-in-law, (James Siler) and Mary Frances (Larry) Pollard, all of Troy; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
