George Washington Crawford Sr.

Services for George Washington Crawford Sr., 87, of Detroit, Mich., who died July 21, 2007, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Mich., will be at 11 a.m. July 28, 2007, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Samuel Smith officiating.

Family hour will be at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be at Ross Chapel A.M.E. Zion in Hurtsboro.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorials made to St. Paul A.M.E Church, care of George Crawford Scholarship Fund.

David Earl Pruitt

David Earl Pruitt, 58, of Birmingham, passed away July 24, 2007.

He worked in sales and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Pruitt and Alphia Kemp; sisters, Sandra Peterson of Louisville, Ky., and Pat Watkins of Troy; and a brother, Steve Pruitt of Gadsden.

Survivors include his wife, Candy Lang Pruitt of Birmingham; daughter, Jeni Bryson of Gadsden; sons, Christopher Presley of Homewood and Matthew and Michelle Presley of Pinson; sister, Martha Tolbert of Troy; brothers, Larry and Teresa Pruitt of Franklin, Tenn., and Gary and Veronica Pruitt of Troy; grandchildren, Lori Huie of Gadsden, and Hana Presley and Bailey Presley of Pinson; and several nieces and nephews.

A chapel service will be held at noon Thursday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
