Virginia Hall-Norton

Virginia Hall-Norton, 89, passed away peacefully in Tomball, Texas on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. She was born on July 22, 1917 in Tyler, Texas to parents, Johnson Russell Gibson and Beulah (Rollins) Gibson. Virginia was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, James Edward &uot;Buster&uot; Hall, Sr. of over 50

years and Robert &uot;Bob&uot; J. Norton; daughter Roberta Tisdale; and son, James Edward Hall, Jr.; brothers, J. Russell Gibson, Jr.; V.A. &uot;Gussie&uot; Gibson, and sister Valeria G. Wells.

Virginia resided in Dothan, Alabama for over 35 years where she and her husband, Buster, were active members of the First Baptist Church. After Buster passed away, she moved to Mobile, Alabama at which time she met and married Bob Norton. She later moved to the Cypress/Tomball area.

Virginia was a devout Christian, taught school, and was a librarian for many years. She had an avid love for reading and outdoors. She attended Troy City schools and graduated from Troy State Teachers College.

Virginia is survived by her son, Patrick Hall of Mobile, Alabama; daughters-in-law, Susan Hall of Cypress, Texas and Pamela Edwards and husband George; one son-in-law, Peter Norton and wife Susan; one brother, John W. &uot;Billy&uot; Gibson; two sisters, Beulah Blanton of Tallahassee, FL and Patty Gibson of Mobile, Alabama; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other loving relative and friends.

A Memorial Service is planned for 3 p.m. on July 22nd at Elam Cemetery outside Troy, Alabama. It would have been Virginia's 90th birthday.

Virginia touched many lives and will be truly missed by all of her loved ones and friends.
