Nelson Jones
Funeral services for Nelson Jones, 87, of Troy, who died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in Troy will be at 2 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home with Dr. Alan McBride officiating.
Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was a Veteran of World War II and owned four restaurants in Troy for 30 years - the Pan Am, the Branding Iron, the Bamboo and Nelson's by the Lake.
Mr. Jones is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Medley Curry of Daphne; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie L. and Tamara Jones of Troy; grandchildren, Ben (Julie) Curry, Chip Curry,
Tori Jones and Christopher Jones; two great-grandchildren, Shaun Curry and Melody Curry; three sisters, Mozelle Maddox, Clonez Wilson and Alice Baker; and a special friend, Ann McSwean.
Pallbearers will be Ben and Chip Curry, Christopher Jones, Rennie Mills, Linwood Erb, Jesse Loving, Joel Witherington and Durwood Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Troy Public Library or the Colley Senior Complex.
Margaret Gladys Phelps
Funeral services for Margaret Gladys Phelps, 88, of Troy, who died at her home Monday, April 23, 2007, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Elder Cary Sanders and the Rev. Averyt Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph &uot;Willie&uot; Phelps; son, William Joseph &uot;Billy Joe&uot; Phelps Jr.; and infant daughter, Brenda Phelps.
She is survived by her grandchildren, William J. &uot;Butch&uot; and Joni Phelps III of Troy; great-grandchild, Maggie Ruth Phelps of Troy; nieces, Elaine Klepac and Beverly Lang; nephews, Eddie Ensley, James Crittenden, Edward Crittenden, Phillip Crittenden, Randy Crittenden and Gary Pearson.
Pallbearers will be Larry Long, Bruce Long, Wes Mahaffey, Jeff Meyer, Cecil Locklar and Robert Harman.
