Martha Jo Andress Purcell

A private memorial service for Martha Jo Andress Purcell, 66, of York, who died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian, Miss., will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Purcell was born in Troy on July 21, 1940.

Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Hattaway Ballard of Meridian, Miss.; sons, Earl Walton Hattaway II of Meridian, Miss.; Thomas Lee Hattaway of Ecru, Miss..; Kenneth DeWayne Hattaway of Ft. Worth, Texas; and William &uot;Bill&uot; Raymond Purcell of Linden; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Keith A. Motes

Services for Keith A. Motes, 43, of Troy, who died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Troy Regional Medical Center were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Curtis Faulkner officiating.

There was a viewing from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Burial was in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Motes was born Oct. 19, 1963, in Pike County. He was a truck driver in the transportation industry.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry Motes.

Survivors include three children, Kayla Motes, Courtney Motes and Joshua Motes, all of Troy; parents, Kenneth and Barbara Motes; brother, Randy Motes; sister, Robin Motes; and Greg Powell all of Troy; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were Hunter Motes, Chris Copeland, Ricky Bishop, Greg Powell, Aaron McCurdy, Greg Motes and Cliff Carroll.

The family requests memorials be made to American Heart Association, 1449 Medical Park Dr., Birmingham, AL 35213.

Len Washington Johnson

Funeral services for Len Washington Johnson, 62, of Brundidge, who died at his home, Thursday, April 26, 2007, were at 2 p.m. Saturday with the at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge with the Rev. Averyt Walker officiating.

Burial followed at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday night at the funeral home.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jula Hagler of Troy, Ann Mathis of Brundidge, Ruby Corley of Brundidge, Benny Johnson of Brundidge, Jimmy Johnson and Helen Dyer of Elba, and Ruth Lee of Troy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Foreman Eugene &uot;Zeke&uot; Ellis

Funeral services for Foreman Eugene &uot;Zeke&uot; Ellis, age 80 or 81, of Brundidge, who died Friday, April 27, 2007, at his home will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Shirley Ellis and Malcolm Parker officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. There also will be a viewing one hour prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille Ellis; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Ned Bundy, Brenda and Rocky Kerr and Sandra and Larry Rhodes; a sister, Alice Bundy; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Bundrick, Shannon Massey, Kala Bundrick, Aretha Hartley, Michael Ward, Danny Henderson and Jared Kerr.

His Grand children will serve as honorary pallbearers.
