Charles Henderson High School head coach Steve Haug and the Lady Trojans have a long day ahead of them.

CHHS is slated to play Eufaula in the first round of the class 5A sectional softball tournament at 9:30 am.

The Lady Trojans are 0-2 against Eufaula thus far, but according to Haug there is a perfect explanation.

&uot;Both times we played them this year we gave the game away,&uot; Haug said. &uot;We made simple little errors that cost us.&uot;

But rest assured, Haug and the Lady Trojans aren't in a very giving mood.

&uot;We have taken care of the problems we had against them earlier this year and I believe that we have a good chance to win,&uot; he said.

With a combination of Nick Jones and Hannah Spann at pitcher-catcher the Lady Trojans have become a defensive force.

&uot;We have done a lot of work on defense and come a long way since the beginning of the year.&uot; Haug said.

With the duo of Spann and Brooke Sessions making most of the hits for the Lady Trojans, today's matchup seems to be all but in the bag for Charles Henderson.

&uot;We want to be in the state playoffs,&uot; Haug said.

Haug also commented on the am start time.

&uot;We have played several tournaments this year with earlier start times than that,&uot; he said.

Even if the Lady Trojans have trouble with the Lady Tigers, there seems to be no cause for concern in the Charles Henderson camp.

&uot;It is a double elimination tournament so the winners play the winners and the losers play the losers to we have two chances to move on.&uot; Haug said.

The game is set to start at 9:30 a.m. at the Troy Sports Complex.
