Hope Woods Gano

Graveside services for Hope Woods Gano, 79, of Troy, who died at Troy Health and Rehab, Sunday, March 25, 2007, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dr. John Brannon officiating.

She is survived by a nephew, Kenneth Woods of Georgetown, Ohio; a niece, Stacia Kaufmann of California; a grandchild, Eric Westberg of Troy; and a great-grandchild, Olivia Westberg of Troy.

Charles Ray Dunn

Funeral services for Charles Ray Dunn, 88, who died Monday, March 26, 2007, in Quitman, Ga., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel in Freeport, Fla., with the Rev. Joel Glenn officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Sandfield Cemetery in Pike County.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday the funeral home, located at 150 East Highway 20 in Freeport, Fla.

Mr. Dunn was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Pike County to Charlie Akin and Oma Morgan Dunn.

Mr. Dunn had been a resident of Freeport since 1964, moving from Union Springs. He professed belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a veteran of WWII, serving his country in the Unites States Army. He and his wife Jewel owned and operated Ray Dunn's Exxon and Convenience Store in Freeport for 31 years. Mr. Dunn was an avid fox hunter and owned Bear Creek Old Line Walker Kennels. He organized the Walton County, Fla., Hunting Club and the Civitan Service Club in Union Springs.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his father and mother; his wife of 55 years, Jewel Ven Browder Dunn; one son, Jimmy Charles Dunn; and a brother, William G. Dunn.

Mr. Dunn is survived by a daughter, Donna Rae Dunn Lowery, and son-in-law, Charlie; and three grandsons, Justin Dunn Rollins, Jordan Paul Rollins and Charles Austin Lowery, all of Thomasville, Ga.; two brothers, Wyman E. Dunn and wife Martha Ann of Pensacola, Fla., and Morgan A. Dunn and wife Edna of Sandfield; sister-in-law, Mary Faye Dunn of Dothan; close friend, O'Delia Keaton of Freeport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Larry Wyman Dunn, Robert Francis Ball, James Stewart Canaday, Jeffrey Paul Watson, Andrew Dunn Watson, Loyd Edward Caudill and Mark Herman Saunders.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Presbyterian Home and Retirement Community, 1901 West Sereven St., Quitman, GA 31643.

Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
