Frank J. Mizell, Jr.

Graveside services for Mrs. Frank J. Mizell Jr. (Evelyn Chalker Davis Mizell), 88, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, will be held at noon Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery.

Mrs. Mizell is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Colonel Frank J. Mizell Jr. who died in April 2000.

She is survived by a daughter, the Rev. Kathleen Mizell Awbrey of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Janet Davis Dowling of Panama City, Fla.; a cousin, John D. Chalker and wife Mary Catherine of Costa Rica; a brother-in-law, Charles M. Mizell and his wife, Lee; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by her companion and caretaker of more than 33 years, Mrs. Robert Thomas (Betty); her friends and &#8220adopted grandchildren” Becky Risteen and Justin Moates; and her sitters, Janet Bush, Susan Weaver, Elizabeth McCullers and Paula Harris.

Mrs. Mizell was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Montgomery, a Brownie Scout leader sponsored by First Methodist Church, a volunteer at the American Red Cross, and a Gray Lady volunteer at Maxwell Air Force Base Hospital.

She was in charge of the Alabama State Senate Stenographer Pool for 20 years and a homemaker for over 54 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church Ministry of Missions, 1728 S. Hull Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.

Gerald Wilkes Bundy

Funeral services for Gerald Wilkes Bundy, 101, of Troy, who died at her home Monday, March 19, 2007, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Frank Lowery officiating.

Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucion Bundy; two sons, Camreon and Wilbur; a daughter, Ethel Lee; and 13 sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggie (Ovie Dee) Grimes of Troy; two daughters-in-law, Ethel Bundy of Kenosha, Wis., and Miriam Bundy of Troy; sister-in-law, Julia Wilks (Bubba) Davis of Luverne; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Dunn, Wes Dunn, Josh Howard, Joe Bundy, Billy Bundy, Charles Dunn, and Phil Howard.

In lieu of flowers memorials be made to Lighthouse Hospice.

Jewell McLeod Warren

Funeral services for Jewell McLeod Warren, 97, of Opp, who died at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Monday, March 19, 2007, will be at 11 a.m. today at Fleetwood Baptist Church with the Rev. James Owens officiating.

Burial will follow at Spears Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11 a.m. today at Fleetwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Warren; two brothers, Obie and Cleois McLeod; and daughter-in-law, Florence Warren.

She is survived by her children, Emmett Calvin Warren of Opp, Jackie Warren Powell of Smyrna, Ga., Malcomb &uot;Dick&uot; Warren of Montgomery, Peggy Warren (Otway) Grimes of Andalusia, Ray Warren of Troy, Jay (Lucille) Warren of Highland Home and Myra Warren (Sam) Ellis of Troy; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gerald Calvin Warren, Steve Powell, Keith Ellis, Ronald Warren, Johnny Warren and Jason Ellis.
