Services for James Donald Flowers will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Troy with Mark Sammons officiating.

Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist

Church Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur and Tennessee Flowers; his brother, Willie James Flowers; and his ex-wife of 44 years, Shirley Norman Flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Lovie Lee Flowers; five children, Donzetta Flowers of Troy, Arnold (Susan) Cuyler Flowers of Brundidge, Cynthia Hampton of Bellville, N.J., Kathy M. Flowers (Israel N. Hodge Jr.) of North Brunswick, N.J., and James D. Flowers Jr. of Jersey City, N.J.; 11 grandchildren, Michelle (Raymond), Katherine (Ping), Shannon, Amirah, Tiffany, Rashina, Vanessa, Sakeenah, Wayne Anthony, James Donald III and Christopher David; 10 great-grandchildren; one godchild, Tia; one sister, Mary Jean Flowers

Bogart of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Nathaniel Jackson of Brundidge; one nephew, two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
