Annie Myrtle Brooks
Funeral services for Annie Myrtle Brooks, 91, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating.
Burial will be in Orion Methodist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Miss Brooks was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Pike County to James Caleb Brooks and Fannie Lydia Phenix Brooks.
She was a retired nurse.
Miss Brooks was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James David Brooks, Phenix Preston Brooks and Joe F. Brooks; and a sister, Nora Lou Guthrie.
Survivors include two brothers, William Timothy Brooks, Cape Coral, Fla., and Jacob Rutledge Brooks, Montgomery; two sisters, Frances Rebecca Young of Orlando, Fla., and Mattie Esther Johnson of (Part Street) Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Orion Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, care of Troy Bank and Trust.
Roy L. “Buck” Roberts Sr.
Funeral services for Roy L. “Buck” Roberts Sr., 88, of Hamilton Crossroads, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Troy Regional Medical Center, were at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ with Minister Elisha Freeman officiating.
Burial was in Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge officiating.
There will be a viewing from 2-3 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Roberts was born July 9, 1918, to William Roberts and Ruby Yohn Roberts.
He was a retired sheet metal worker in aviation.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Roberts, R.J. Roberts and DeWitt Roberts; and twin sisters, Bessie Folsom and Jessie Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Shiver Roberts of Hamilton Crossroads; two sons, Sonny Roberts and Bill Roberts, both of Hamilton Crossroads; two daughters, Joann Bounds of Holly Springs, Miss., and Vanora Leigh of Brighton, England; a sister, Mattie Pearl White of Mississippi; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
Dr. Robert Austin Dietz
A private memorial service
for Dr. Robert Austin Dietz, 84, of Destin, Fla., who died in Troy, Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, will be held at a later date in Destin, Fla.
Dr. Dietz is survived by his wife, Dr. Magdalena Wojciechowska of Troy; four children, Donald M. (Callie T.) Dietz of Wetumpka, Carol Jones of Fairfield, Iowa, Ara Johnson of Ashland, Ore., and Paul (Reva) Dietz of LaCanada, Calif.; and his grandchildren, Seth Dietz, Lindsay Dietz, Lonnie Dietz, Jessica Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Miles Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Gavin Jones and Kelsey Jones.
