Alan Childs

Services for Alan Childs, 52, of Jack, who died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at his home, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church on Highway 125 in Brundidge with the Rev. Wilburn Kirkland officiating.

There will be a viewing from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Childs was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Columbus, Ga. He completed four years of college with a degree in nursing and was retired. Mr. Childs also was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father, Constontine Seay Childs; a sister, Debra Wilson; a step-father, Glenn Bolling; and a grandmother, Eathel McWaters.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Childs of Jack; two sons, Abe Childs and Ace Childs, both of Jack; two daughters, Ali Childs of Jack and Angel Childs of Tampa, Fla.; mother, Christine Bolling of Enterprise; four brothers, Roy Childs of Elba, Mack Childs of Ariton, Ronnie Childs of New Brockton and John Bolling of Virginia; three sisters, Jan Sykes and Karen Elder, both of Enterprise, and Gloria Childs of Virginia; mother-in-law, Rosie Brooks; and a special friend, Earl Hamilton of Jack; father-in-law and his wife, David and Margaret Peacock of Needmore; two grandsons and a host of nephews, nieces and extended family.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

The family request memorials be made to Huntington College Fund in Montgomery, or D.O.E.R. Shriners Club, c/o Ron Childs, 308-2433 or 347-2291.
