Nettie Lee Witherington
Nettie Lee Witherington, Age 97 of Goshen, Died Saturday, August 26, 2006.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10:00 from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Marvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spears Cemetery in Glenwood. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
Survivors include, Children; Dorothy Fryman of New Jersey, Jean (Carlton) Lockley of Goshen, Doris Mitchell of Goshen, Laurie Slawson of Goshen, 11 Granchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, Serving as Honarary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
Hubert D. Owens
Hubert D. Owens, 74, of Jack, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at his home.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at 5 p.m. at Wise Mill Assembly of God in Jack with the Rev. Kenneth Hagler officiating. He will lie in state at t he church from 4-5 p.m. Burial will follow under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
He was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Coffee County to the late
Pursey V. Owens and Ethel Davis Owens. He was employed in civil service with the U.S. government. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Evelyn K. Owens.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Michelle Owens of Millbrook; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Richard Richard; two brothers, Dick Owens of Birmingham and Jimmy Owens of Jack; two sisters, Minnie (Sis) Wambles of Jack and Nell Whitehead of Columbus, Ga.; grandchildren, Patrick Mahoney of Troy and Shane and Amy Owens of Millbrook.

Eunice Thomas
Services for Eunice Thomas, 103, of Goshen who died Sunday, August 27, 2006 at her home will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August, 29 at the funeral home with Rev. William Leverette officiating. She will lie in state from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Visitation will be at this time.
Burial will be in Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Mrs. Thomas was born September 10, 1902 in Crenshaw County.
She was a retired homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H. C. Spurlock and Birdie Beasley Spurlock, 2 sons, H. C. &uot;Red&uot; Thomas of Montgomery and Paul Thomas of Prattville.
Survivors include a daughter, Lillian Thomas of Goshen; 4 grandchildren, Kenneth and Vicki Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, Dana and Tommy Everage of Montgomery, Mila Thomas and Rebecca Thomas both of Montgomery; 3 great-grandchildren, Shannon Everage of Montgomery, Christopher Thomas of Camp Lejuene, North Carolina and Sara Thomas of Troy and caretakers, Ida Mae Johnson and Annett McClain both of Troy and Bonnie Hart of Luverne.
Pallbearers will be David Messick, Ricky Messick, Jimmy Messick, John A. Carr, Russell Thomas and Christopher Thomas.
