Gladys Lassiter Grace

Gladys Lassiter Grace, 65, of Troy died at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery, Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Visitation will be held at First Methodist Church of

Troy on Saturday, June 24, 2006 from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Methodist Church of Troy on Saturday, June 24, at 3 p.m. with Reverend Alan McBryde and Reverend Elizabeth O'Neill officiating.

After the service at the church the family will have a private graveside service. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center, Wellness Foundation, 4145 Carmichael Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36106. The pallbearers are Troy Terhune, James Coursey, Phillip Herrell, Al Stephens, Bart Sanders and Joel Williams. The honorary pallbearers are Martha Knight, Peggy Stephens, Sue Gibson, Jean Boutwell, Jane Hamrick, Barbara McVey, Reba Crane, Linda Herring, Juanita Curtis, Allowee Johnston, Charlene Erdoesy and Mary West, also the Goshen High School graduating class of 1959, Geraldine Blair Bozeman Hill, Mary Sue Hughes Eiland, Betty Pugh Hunt, Myrna and Ned McHenry, Mr. and Mrs. Gene McLeod, Benny Luther Pyron, Sr., Jimmy Shaver, Wendell Sanders, Anne Grant Johnson Maule, Sara Sanders Taylor, Gene Milton, Charles Warren, Joan Wood Beard, Rendall Clark, Jr., June Bryan Thomas, Charles W. Floyd, Jeanette Messick Corley, James I. Courson, III, Anne Myrtle Howard, James Watson Kyzar, Jeanette Rhodes Schofield Horn, Jeanette McLeod Brooks, James Truman Johnson, Judy Mills, Reynolds Thomas, and Kline Flowers.

Survivors include, son, Jason Grace and David Berdeaux of Montgomery, other family members, Mae Lassiter of Troy; Jacqueline Grace Pridemore and Bobby of Kentucky; Lee Stephens and Albert of Troy; Olene Sanders of Troy; Linda and Jim Fulmer of Lake Martin; Edna Grace Pinckard of Troy; Mary Wesolick of Texas, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends. Mrs. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Grace; brother, Eugene Lassiter and her parents, Ozie and Emmett Jason Lassiter.

Martha Christine Anderson Bassett

Martha Christine Anderson Bassett, 95, of Montgomery, died at Crowne Health Care in Montgomery, Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, June 23, 2006 from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Ed Walter officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. She is survived by, nephew, Mark (Jean) Anderson of Montgomery, niece, Linda A. (Boyd) Campbell of Montgomery, cousin, Helen Till of Montgomery, and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell C. Bassett and a son, Claiborne A. Bassett.

Beatrice Davis Scott

Mrs. Beatrice Davis Scott of Ozark left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Her children and devoted husband of 66 years were at her side. She was 82 years old. Funeral services will be at

2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Isom Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Beatrice was born in Dale County on March 13, 1924. She and her husband moved to Ozark in 1960, where she retired from Van Heusen. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she was president of her Sunday school class. Beatrice's greatest joy in life was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a loving and generous wife, mother and friend. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Haygood and Cullie (Hagler) Davis and her brother, Hayward Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, H. R. (Goat) Scott of Ozark; her daughters, Julia Culpepper and her husband, William of Troy

and Betty Lucido and her husband Vic of Montgomery; her sons, Mack Scott and his wife Linda of Goshen and Billy Scott and his wife Toni of Dothan; her brother, Delmas Davis and his wife, Mae of Ozark; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one

great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Ricky Davis, Wayne Davis, Gary Pritchett, Mitchell Scott and Larry Webb. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Scott's church family, relatives and friends for their

love and support and a special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice for their compassion in caring for her during her courageous battle with cancer.
