Woodfin B. &uot;Woody&uot; Allen

Woodfin B. &uot;Woody&uot; Allen, age 93, of Brundide, died Saturday March 4, 2006, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held

Monday, March 6, 2006, at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

There was a one hour lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. Visitation was held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Sunday, March 5, 2006 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Allen is survived by his wife, Gertrude Senn Allen of Brundidge; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry R. and Linda J. Allen of Brundidge; daughter, Sally Ann and Philip Whorton of Wetumpka; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were, Charles Senn, Edward Medley, Michael Allen, Jeffery Allen, James Mulkey, and Tony Powell.

JoAnn Langley Bath

JoAnn Langley Bath, 59, of Troy, died at Troy Regional Medical Center, Tuesday, March 7, 2006.

Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Perdue Cemetery on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Stinson officiating.

The pallbearers are grandsons, step-sons and nephews.

She is survived by husband, Donald Bath of Troy;

daugthers, Diane (Marvin) Smith of Deltona, Fla., Susan Michelle Parker of Eufaula, and Kathy (David) Allen of Troy; sons, Andy Hurst of Troy, J.R. (Renee) Hurst of Seale, and Tim Hurst of Phenix City, several Grandchildren, brothers, Gene (Sandy) Langley of Florida, and Ed Langley of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Erlene Langley of Jack; special relative, Braxton Michael Wilkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wriley and Susie Mae Langley, daughter, Elizabeth Gayle Allen and three brothers, Tim, Pete, and Harold Langley.

Teressa P. Bowie

Teressa P. Bowie, 91, of Troy, Alabama, died at Noble Manor in Troy, Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, March 10, 2006, from 2:45 p.m. until 3:45 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, March 10, 2006, at 4 p.m. with Reverend Marcus Wingard, Reverend Jim Powell, and Billy Jinright officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mike Carlon, Rob Carlon, Johnny Steed, Jimmy Law, Jerry Spurlock, and Dr. Richard Schloemer. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Powell, The Staff and Residents of Noble Manor, Mary Toney, Gloria Thomas, and Evelyn Taylor.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Merilyn and Ralph Dwornik of Troy, and June and Harry Carlon of Destin, Fla.; grandchildren, Cindy Carlon of Nashville, Tennessee, Mike and Heidi Carlon of Louisville, Ky., Rob and Ginger Carlon of Greenville, S.C.; great grandchildren, Nicole and Harrison Carlon, and William and Samantha Carlon. S

he was preceded in death by her husband, Zo Bowie, sisters and brothers, Mildred Whittington, James Powell, Tiny Greene and L.K. Powell. Mrs. Bowie was a graduated of Troy High School, she then attended Troy State Teachers College and Brown Business College in Birmingham.

She worked as a legal secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she was past president of the Oak Grove Cemetery Committee.

She was a loving and loyal wife, mother and grandmother and was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.

She was always there with help and support when others needed her.

Janie Mae Brown Wallace

Janie Mae Brown Wallace, 96, long time resident of Brundidge, diedd on Monday, March 6, 2006.

Mrs. Wallace was born Nov. 11, 1909, to Mamie and Joe Brown in Clio.  She moved to Brundidge as the young bride of the late William B. Wallace, also a native of Clio.  She graduated from the University of Montevallo and taught elementary school in Blue Springs and Flomaton. She later served many years as the librarian of the Brundidge Public Library retiring at the age of 86.  At that time the mayor of Brundidge declared Janie Wallace Day.  As a young girl she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clio and for over 70 years was a devoted member of the Brundidge United Methodist Church.  She was a charter member of the Three Arts Club and served as president of that club for several terms. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband as well as a brother, Robert Brown. 

Surviving family includes, one daughter, Jane Filmore and husband Thomas R. of Kansas City, M.; two sons, Brad and wife, Marian of Sarasota, Fla., Brent and wife, Sheila of Wetumpka; three sisters, Joyce Brown Weir and Lillian Brown Brunson, both of Birmingham and Nell Rose Brown Carpenter of Florence; 11 grandchildren, Carolyn Filmore Larson, William H. Filmore, Michael Filmore , Ryan Filmore, Scott Filmore, Kathryn Wallace Adams, Elizabeth Wallace, Hannah Wallace, Leslie Wallace Viles, Tabitha Wallace Woodley, and Amanda Wallace, and 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William (Bill) Filmore, Michael Filmore, Ryan Filmore, Kevin Larson, Nathan Adams, and Dustin Woodley. 

The family extends their deepest thanks to the Baptist Health Hospice staff in Montgomery for the loving care received over the past few months.

Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Friday, March 10, 2006, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. 

The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge on Friday, March 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jimmy Spikes and Reverend Ray Foreman officiating.  Burial will follow at Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family request that donations be made to the Brundidge United Methodist Church or the Brundidge Public Library on lieu of flowers.
