Robert Love Revell
Mr. Robert Love Revell, Jr., 79, f of Troy, died Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Texas. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Sunday, March 5, 2006 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Graveside services will be held at Wingard Cemetery, Sunday March 5, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Bo Weed officiating. Dillard Funeral Home of Troy is directing.
He is survived by his Sister and Brother-in-Law Peggy and John T. Hood of Houston, Texas; his niece Mary Ellen Tharp and her husband Ben of Brookshire, Texas; nephew John T. Hood, III and his wife Karen of New York City, New York; two daughter and Sons-In-Law Mary S. Whaley and Robert L. Whaley of Troy, Martha S. Armstrong and Richard F. Armstrong of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Granddaughters Melissa W. and Ty Boatner, Marsha W. and Wesley Meeks all of Troy; Meredith A. and Derek Odegard of Atlanta. Three Great Nieces and nephews, Katie T. and David Sandifer of San Diego, Ca, Carra and Benjamin Tharp of Brookshire, Texas, Three Great Grandchildren, Colton and Kristen Meeks of Troy and Fielder Odegard of Atlanta. He Was Preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Frances Wingard Revel. Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church of Troy.
Jack Rushing Brunson
Mr. Jack Rushing Brunson age 77 of Elba, AL departed this life Wednesday, March
1, 2006 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Elba on Monday, March 6, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mart Gray officiating. The Brunson family will receive friends at their residence 1192 Pine Circle Elba, AL after 2:00 P. M. each evening thru Sunday. Following the services at the First Baptist Church of Elba friends will be received in the fellowship hall. Mr. Brunson was a graduate of Starke Military School in Montgomery, attended Troy State College, and earned a BS degree in Business from The University of Alabama. He has remained an active supporter of The University of Alabama, and was serving on the President's Cabinet and the Board of Visitors for the College of Commerce and Business Administration at the time of his death.
He began his career with National Security Insurance Company of Elba in 1953 and was CEO of The National Security Group at the time of his retirement in 1999.
He is a former Mayor of Elba, and was a Dale Carnegie instructor for many years.
Mr. Brunson was a long-time member of the University Of South Alabama Board Of Trustees. He had served continuously as a USA board member since being appointed in 1989.
He served as board chairman from 1998 to 2001.

Grandson-Jack Rushing Brunson, II of Elba, AL, Granddaughter-Ella Blake Brunson of Elba, AL, Granddaughter-Meredith Allen Brunson of Elba, AL, Granddaughter-Mary Ballard Brunson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Grandson-Edward Franklin Brunson of Elba, AL. Mr. Brunson was preceded in death by a Son-William Barry Brunson, three Brothers-William Lister Brunson, Jerry Burton Brunson and Grover Brunson. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Jack R. Virginia Baggett Browder
Mrs. Virginia Baggett Browder, 84, life-long resident of Bradleyton, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Thursday morning, March 2, 2006. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Ervin Browder in 1979 and infant son, Ralph Michael Browder in 1958. Mrs. Browder is survived by two sons, Herbert Ervin “Chip” Browder, Jr. and his wife, Denise Fisher Browder and George Glenn Browder and his wife, Vicki Sanders Browder; four loving grandchildren, Tracy Ailene Stevens, Sandra Denise Guidroz, Jason Michael Browder and Victoria Britton Browder; as well as two great-grandchildren, Alyson Grace Robbins and Sandra Ruth Stevens. Funeral services were Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 1 p.m. from the Bradleyton Baptist Church in Bradleyton with Reverend Lavon Davis and Reverend Joe Leverette officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family received friends at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until service time.
