Rosemond Barnett Crowder
Mrs. Rosemond Barnett Crowder died quietly in her sleep early Saturday morning, February 25, 2006 at Magnolia Wood Lodge in Troy where she had been a resident for the last four years.
Mrs. Crowder was a long time employee of First Alabama Bank, and was a Vice-President of the Trust Department when she retired in 1982.
She suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for the last twenty years.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Mrs. Crowder is survived by her husband of over sixty years, Wendol Wade Crowder, a daughter, Carolyn Zoe Crowder of Tucson, Az., two sons, Thomas W. Crowder of Troy and Jerry W. Crowder of Birmingham, a brother, Rufus Barnett of Ozark and his wife Darlene, a half brother, Bill Fullerton and his wife Ruth, 4 grandchildren, Cory, Crissy, Matthew and Cammie Crowder.
Beatrice F. Mathews
Beatrice Faulk Mathews, 95, died at Troy Regional Medical Center, Friday, February 24, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery. She is survived by 2 Sons, Hubert Ray (Judy L.) Mathews of Dora, Alabama and Gene Mathews of Brundidge, Daughter-in-law, Cathy Mathews of Dora, Alabama and 6 Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Mathews, son, Wayne Mathews and sister, Iomie Galloway.
Glen Chancellor Dawkins
Glen Chancellor Dawkins, 94, of Troy, died at Dale Medical Center in Ozark, Saturday, February 25, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Royce Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Davis, Wayne Davis, Ben Chancellor, Chad Peacock, Scott Hobbs and Wayne Peacock. Honorary pallbearers will be Residents and Staff of Noble Manor. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Rayford Peacock of Montgomery, grandchildren, Chad Peacock of Montgomery, and Vicki and Scott Hobbs of Daphne, great grandchild, Chancellor Hobbs, brother and sister-in-law, William and Virginia Chancellor, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Dell Dawkins and a son, Julian Dawkins.
Elizabeth Jane Johnson
Elizabeth Jane Johnson, 55, of Goshen, Alabama, died at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy, Alabama, Saturday, February 25, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, Alabama on Wednesday March 1, 2006 at 3:30 PM with Reverend Andy Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, in Goshen, Alabama. The family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Group of Troy. The pallbearers are Jacob Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Robert Faust, Jimmy Mills, Christopher Burrow, Mathew Almeida, and Kenneth Drinkard. The honorary pallbearers are Keith Snyder, Bart Snyder, Carter Sanders, M.W. Skinner, and Larry Snyder. She is survived by Husband, C. Ned Johnson of Goshen, Alabama, Children, Angelia Jane Burrow Bavousett of Abelene, Texas, Jennifer (Mathew) Johnson-Almeida of Dawson, Georgia, Jacob Johnson of Dawson, Georgia, Ralph Patrick (Brittany) Johnson of Lynden, Washington, and Walter Andrew Johnson of Abelene, Texas, Grandchild, Christopher Shae Burrow, Jake Johnson, Veronika Johnson, John Leo Szrejter, Sisters, Dona Rose Mills, Susan Louise Parnell, and Sharon Elaine Villalovos, Brother, Robert Albert Faust, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Faust, step-mother, Dona Ailene Vollentine and brother, Justin Wayne Faust.
