Mary Linton Hughes

Mary Linton Hughes, 81, of Goshen, died at her home, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at 11 a.nm. with Reverend W.O. Sanders officiating. The pallbearers will be Matt Hughes, Jason McLeod, Brody Fisher, Feren Evans, Charlie Hughes, Sam Brown and Kevin Stephens.

Survivors include, Husband, Leven Hughes of Goshen, Sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Joyce Hughes of Troy, Johnny and Jane Hughes of Goshen, daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Don Vaughan of Panama City Beach, Fla., four grandchildren, Lisa Fisher, Kim McLeod, Matt Hughes and Jeffrey Vaughn, four great grandchildren, Bailey Hope, Alex Fisher, Caroline Fisher and Parker McLeod, brother, Harold Linton, sisters, Ginny Linton, Judy Laughlin and Martha Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zora and Julia Linton, five Brothers, James, Parker, Eugene, Bibb and Elan Linton, two Grandsons, Michael Vaughn and Daryl Hughes.

Tommy Frank Connell, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Frank Connell, Sr., age 59 of Brundidge died

Christmas morning, Dec.25, 2005 after spending a wonderful Christmas Eve with his grandson and immediate family members.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Salem Baptist Church in Brundidge

with interment following in Lakeview Cemetery with Bob Thrash of Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing. Officiating will be Brother Bobby T. Hood, Rev. Cliff Allred and Rev. Rex Godwin.

Tommy was a firefighter with the City of Troy and retired as a lieutenant after 26 years of service, he was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 48 years, and served there as an Ordained Deacon.

Tommy was preceded in death by his younger brother, Charles Howard Connell, his father, Frank Glen Connell, and his father and mother-in-law, Mack Sollie and Laurie Jean Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Wilson Connell, mother, Ethma Connell, Troy; his son and daughter-in-law, Tom F. Connell, Jr. and Torri West Connell; his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Connell Wilson and Brian Patrick Wilson, Birmingham; his grandson, Patrick Connell Eamon Wilson, Birmingham; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and June Godwin Connell, Townsend, Tenn.; his niece Brandy Connell, Big Fork, Mont.; and his sister-in-law, Kathy Wilson, Destin, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salem Baptist Church, Pascagoula Missions, P.O. Box 802, Brundidge, AL 36010.

Serving as pallbearers were John Austin, Don Shehane, Thomas Outlaw, David Taylor, Chad Kilcrease, Paul Outlaw, Jade Fleming, Shawn Sims. Honorary pallbearers were the Troy Firemen, Deacons and the Fisher of Men's Sunday School class at Salem Baptist Church.
