Charles Alvin Long
Charles Alvin Long, age 79 of Montgomery, Alabama died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov 28, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral, Highway 231 in Brundidge, Carey Sanders and John Hardin officiating.
Visitation was held prior to services from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge, and following the service burial was
in the Ramah Primitive Baptist Cemetery, US Hwy 29 north of Banks, Alabama.
Mr. Long was born in Pike County March 6, 1926 to Lessie A. and William J. Long. He was a World War II Veteran, US Army Infantry, serving in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Long is survived by the first and only love of his life, and wife of 58 years, Wilner Green Long of Montgomery: his son Randy (and Kathy) Long of Montgomery, and daughter Wanda (and Glenn Williams, Col. USMC (Ret)) of Norfolk, VA.
Grandchildren: Jason Long, Lindsey L. (and Chris) Lewis, Casey W. Kress (and Geoff) of Palm Harbor, FL, and Evan (and Ashley) Williams, and a great-granddaughter Cameron of Colorado Springs, CO. and a great-grandson Ethan of Montgomery. He is also survived by four beloved brothers and sisters-in-law: J.P. Long, Troy, AL, Ellis (and Eloise) Long, Montgomery, Oris (and Jewel) Long, Montgomery, and Lloyd (and Mary Charles) Long of Banks, AL, and special sister-in-law and brothernin-law Bobby (Green) and Wallace Lamar Brown of Alpine, TX. As well as numerous dear nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be: Bruce Long, Dennis Long, Terry Long, Larry Long, David Long, and Mark Rhodes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hall, Bill Rhodes, and Jason Evans.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ramah cemetery fund
