Mary Dennis Spencer

Mary Dennis Spencer, 87, died November 18, 2005 of congestive heart failure after a long illness. Mrs. Spencer lived in Charlotte for seven years. She loved Charlotte, enjoyed being close to her grandchildren, the activities at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church and her many friends at Merrywood. A fall in October 2004 precipitated the move to White Oak Manor for more supervised care.

Survivors include two children, Judith Riess of Vienna, Virginia and James Spencer of Bradenton, Florida; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Vienna, Virginia. A Memorial service for Mrs. Spencer was held at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Charlotte on November 15.

Donations may be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 2701 Park Road, Charlotte, N. C..28209 or the Autism Society of N. C., 1300 Baxter Street, Ste 260, Charlotte, N.C. 28204. Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.

Hamilton Eugene McKenzie

Hamilton Eugene McKenzie, 71, of Troy, died at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Thursday, November 17, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Saturday, November 19, 2005

from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at 2:00 PM with Father Eamon Miley officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include, Wife, Yvonne McKenzie of Troy, 2 Sons, Wade Hamilton McKenzie of Holland and James David (Martha Ann) McKenzie of Shreveport, Louisiana, 2 Grandchildren, Alexis McKenzie of Shreveport, Louisiana and Collin Patrick McKenzie of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brother, Robert McKenzie of Brundidge, Numerous nieces and nephews.
