Oleta Ruth Griffin Ledbetter

Oleta Ruth Griffin Ledbetter, 92 of Troy died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, from 10 a.m. until 11:00 AM at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy and conducted by Reverend Michael Alsup.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Pallbearers will be Hubert Williford, Richard Williford, Phil Hall, Sonny Williford, Thomas Walker, Dave O'Neal, Mike Hogan, Steve Ledbetter, Tony Gardner and Spencer Burkett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Todd Pearlstein, Dr. Richard Schloemer, Mr. Bill Gauspohl of Troy and Dr. Richard Russell of Birmingham. The family request that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Troy or the American Heart Association. She was born in Troy on March 30, 1913, to Luther Hill and Mary Helena Duncan Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Arthur Glen Ledbetter, and her sisters, Norma G. Williford, Alma G. Williford, Edna G. Williford and Barbara G. Blackmon. Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Ledbetter Lawrence (James) of Birmingham, and one grandson, Talbot Lawrence of Franklin, Tennessee, one brother, Lex Griffin (Ruth) of Troy, 12 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, 39 great great nieces and nephews and two great great great nieces and nephews.

Oleta (affectionately known as &#8220LeLe”) was a devoted and long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Troy.

She taught Sunday School, participated in practically all of the work of her church until the last few months of her life.

She was a beloved and well-known member of her church. Oleta was also known for her work as a beautician. She loved her customers and they loved her.

&#8220LeLe” also loved children and took time out to &#8220baby-sit.” She especially cared for Cindy Burkett and Amy and Will Gibbs. She also spent many years of work at Green's Drugs.

Oleta loved life, people, and most of all, God and His Son. She spent most of her time caring for others and will always have a special place in many of the hearts of Troy.

Hugh Dent Finlay, Sr.

Hugh Dent Finlay, Sr., 92, of Goshen died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday November 12, 2005, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.. Graveside services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, Nove. 12, 2005 at 3:30 PM with Reverend Marvin Jackson officiating. The family request that memorials be made to The American Cancer Society or to one’s favorite charity. The pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. He was born January 26, 1913, in Pike County to John Leon and Ola Mills Finlay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aylor Elizabeth Townsend Dillard Finlay, an infant son, his son-in-law, William Earnest Dorrill and daughter-in-law, Linda Faye Jackson Finlay. He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Dillard Dorrill of Sarasota, Fla. and

four sons, Hugh Dent (Mildred) Finley, Jr. of Troy, John Oliver Finley of Birmingham, William Robert (Lois) Finlay, Sr. of Orange Beach, James Samuel (Carla) Finlay of Duluth, Ga., nine grandchildren, William Neil (Sherry) Dorrill of Naples, Fla., Allen Stuart (Saralyn) Dorrill of Sarasota, Fla., Mark Wesley (Kelly) Dorrill of Dunwoody, Ga., William Robert (Amanda) Finlay, Jr. of Montgomery, David Hugh Finlay of Auburn, Amber Elizabeth Finlay (Wes) Thrash of Prattville, Joshua Drinkard Finlay of Montgomery, Karla Renee Finlay (Shawn) Reed of Birmingham, Haley Elizabeth Finlay of Tuscaloosa, Ten great-grandchildren, Lindsey Elizabeth and Christopher Neil Dorrill of Naples, Fla., Bradley Stuart and Bethany Michael Dorrill of Sarasota, Fla., Michael Wesley and Elizabeth Ann Dorrill of Dunwoody, Ga., Hazen Grace and Olivia Ann Finlay of Montgomery, Luke Isaac Finlay of Tampa, Fla., Finlay Danielle Thrash of Prattville, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean Townsend (Billy) Gibson, Rosa Lee Townsend Boswell, Robert Newman all of Troy, Samuel Frances (Carolyn) Townsend of Ft. Mae Culpepper McGaha,

Mae Culpepper McGaha, 86 of Orlando, Fla., passed away at her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005.

Mrs. McGaha was born January 27, 1919 in Ozark. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy, Saturday, November 12, 2005, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Ramah Cemetery in Banks, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at 1:30 PM with Reverend William Leverett officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Delma Culpepper and late husband, Don McGaha.

She is also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Culpepper and daughter, Gloria Kaye Culpepper.

She is survived by her two sons, Brannon Culpepper of Foley, Alabama and Richard Culpepper of Longwood, her three daughters, Trudy Prince of Belle Isle, Edna Culpepper of New Smyrna Beach and Pennie Hitt of Cocoa, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
