Alean Henderson Brown

Services for Alean Henderson Brown, 89, of Troy who died November 26, 2005 at Troy Regional Medical Center will be at 3 p.m. December 4, 2005 at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Joseph Flowers officiating.

Burial will be in Carroll St. Cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be December 3 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born September 25, 1916 in Pike County and was a member of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She loved people and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Amos Henderson and Tera Green and 2 children, Jimmy Helen White and Carrie Lean Brown Carter.

Survivors include 4 children, Dorothy and James McNeal, Annie Brundidge, Mary Dean Neal all of Cincinnati, Ohio and John Lee Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 sisters, Margurite Shears and Julia Henderson; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; a very special devoted granddaughter, Mrs. Ann Doris Youngblood; 2 nephews, Rev. Johnnie Henderson and Deacon Willie and Bettye Henderson both of Troy.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family

Pennie Pearl Gunter Rhodes

Mrs. Pennie Pearl Gunter Rhodes, a resident of Enterprise, passed away Monday, November 28, 2005 in Troy. Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Enterprise with Rev. Paul Grider officiating. Burial is in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing. Visitation is Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Pennie Pearl Rhodes was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Rhodes. Survivors include a sister, Ms. Annie Jewel Youngblood of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Neal Saulsberry; 3 nieces, Ida B. and Robert Barnes, Beverly S. and Willie Cope and Dorothy and Sam Mallory all of Troy; 2 great-nieces, Jennifer B. Maddox and Ashley Mallory; 5 great-nephews, Jerome and Eric Barnes, Justin and Brandon Cope and Samuel J. Mallory; several cousins, other relatives and friends.
