Ruby Grace Calloway Graham
Ruby Grace Calloway Graham, formerly of Headland, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2005, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, near Headland, with Reverend Dave Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at home of a daughter, Gayle Spann, 110 Ridge Road, Dothan.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dorothy Overstreet, 302 Stone Drive, Dothan, Alabama 36301 or to Wiregrass Hospice, Inc., P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
Mrs. Graham was born and reared in the Pleasant Hill community, near Headland, daughter of the late George Daniel Calloway and Nettie Viola Nunnery Calloway. She was a lifelong resident of Headland before moving to Westside Terrace several years ago. Mrs. Graham was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for many years. She had also been active in the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center. Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt Graham and a son, William Daniel (Billy) Graham.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Gayle Spann and her husband, Billy Spann, Dothan; Linda Graham Bishop and her husband, Ricky Bishop, Troy, Al.; a son, Berlon Graham and his wife, JoAnn Graham, Ft. Walton Beach, Fl.; six grandchildren, Ed Graham and his wife, Maudene Graham; Joyce Gruber and her husband, Doug Gruber; Joe Spann, Lisa Skinner and her husband, Gary Skinner; Sheila Withers and her husband, Carl Withers; Kathy Hawkins; eleven great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Danny Henderson, Levon Overstreet, Oswald Anderson, John Robert Steele, Doug Gruber and Gary Skinner.
The family would like to express their thanks to Westside Terrace and Wiregrass Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Graham.
Marzelle J. Floyd
Marzelle J. Floyd, 78, of Goshen, died at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, October 21, 2005
from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a 30 minute lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be held at Hales Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Cary Maulden and Reverend Robert Pullen officiating.
Burial will follow at Hales Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mallory Slaughter, Gabe Floyd, Dane Floyd, Dan Floyd, Robert Pugh, Kevin Huguley and Chris Floyd. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Sidney Floyd, Jr. of Goshen, 3 sons, Danny L. (Sandra) Floyd of Montgomery, Connor Joe (Sheila) Floyd of Goshen, James S. (Robin) Floyd, III of Montgomery, grandchildren, Cretia Pugh, Pamela Floyd, Malerie Huguley, Kendra Floyd, Dane Floyd, Gabe Floyd, Dan Floyd, great grandchildren, Chris and Haley Floyd, Hudson Pugh, Wesley Pugh, Anna Elizabeth Floyd, Clayton Floyd, Sister, Ethal Mae Folmar of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Ross Floyd and a granddaughter, Lesli Floyd.
