Mary Helen Ward Shepherd

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Helen Ward Shepherd, 70, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gray Brown-Service Chapel in Anniston with Dr. Charles Martin and Dr. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m.

Thursday at Green Hill Memorial Park in Troy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Shepherd died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Mary Helen (Ward) Shepherd beloved wife, mother and grandmother entered into heaven on September 11, 2005.

Raised in Tarentum, she married her high school sweetheart Dean Shepherd, September 20, 1955.

She received her nursing degree from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas.

Her nursing career spanned 34 years from hospital nursing to industrial nursing.

She last worked at Monsanto as their industrial nurse from 1973-1991.

She continued caring for friends and family after leaving the workforce.

She in survived by her husband of 50 years, Dean Shepherd, children; Michelle Lanum (Tom), Jim Shepherd, Jr. (Ann), David Shepherd (Laurie), Claire Roberts (Richard), eight grandchildren; Heather Lanum Herridge (Emerson), Katie Lanum, Julee Lanum, Ashley Shepherd, Megan Shepherd, Ryan Shephard, J.J. Shepherd and Erin Roberts; sister, Sally Prassel; brother, Eldrid Ward, Jr.; sister-in-laws, Elizabethann Ward, Desiree Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Dora Ann Wilcox

Services for Dora Ann Wilcox 57, of Brundidge who died Saturday, September 10, 2005 in Brundidge will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at St. John Baptist Church in Brundidge with Rev. Calvin Faircloth officiating. She will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilcox was born October 4, 1947 in Pike County. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelsey Lee Wilcox and father, Carlie Bunn "Jack" Wilkinson.

Survivors include sons and their wives, Richard and Jodi Wilcox of Banks and Jamie and Carrie Wilcox of Brundidge; grandchildren, Jessica Wilcox of Banks and Casey, Brent and Hunter Wilcox all of Brundidge; mother, Jannie Wilkinson of Brundidge; brothers, Bunn Wilkinson of Brundidge and Jerry Wilkerson of Springhill; sister, Shirley Brooks of Troy and several nieces and nephews.

The family request memorials be made to St. John Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
