Blondell Black

Mrs. Blondell Black, 95, of Brundidge died Monday, July 4, 2005, at Elba General Hospital. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. John Baptist Church at 11 a.m., Thursday,, July 7, 2005, with Rev. Clifford Mathews officiating. There will be a 30-minute lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry V. Black, and a son, Ray Black.

Survivors include her children, Paul Black of Opelika, Jackie (Inez) Black, Cheryl (Donny) Mobley and Eddie (Sarah) Black, all of Tarentum; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Black, Greg Mobley, Danny Black, Shane Calhoun, Tim Sanders and Ben Bowden. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class at St. John.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. John Baptist Church.

Mable Jean Tillery

Funeral services for Mable Jean Tillery, 84, of Talladega, who died July 4 at her home, will be Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. Burial will follow on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Mossy Grove Cemetery in Troy.

Mrs. Tillery was a native of Pike County, but had lived many years in Talladega County. She was a homemaker and was a member of Harvest Field Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Irma Jean Mitchell of Ashland, Ala., Sue Marie Miller of Talladega, and Deborah Ann Harris of Talladega; four sons, John D. Tillery of North Fort Myers, Fla., Riley Joe Tillery of Montgomery, Lary J. Tillery of Talladega, and Luther Thomas Tillery of Ozark; two sisters, Irene Welch and Julie May Davis, one brother, Norris Davis, 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Junior Tillery, Ricky Hendon, Adam McGrady, Jonathan Harris, William Miller and Danny Tillery.
