Willie Maude Baker

Mrs. Willie Maude Baker, 75, of Troy, died at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Saturday, June 18, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at

2 p.m. with Reverend Mack Lowerey officiating. Survivors include, her children, Gail and Eddie Paramore of Troy, Gary Baker of Troy, Sheila and Darrell Hill of Deatsville, Rita and Paul Parry of Cordell, Georgia, Terry and Bonnie Baker of Glenwood; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Julia Stephens Swindall

Services for Julia Stephens Swindall, 82, of Troy who died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Jackson Rehab Center in Montgomery will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Stan Echols officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. She will lie-in-state for 1 hour prior to the service.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Swindall was born January 9, 1923 in Pike County. She was a homemaker and store attendant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Swindall on September 8, 1997; son, Tony Swindall on March 5, 2005 and her parents, James Marion Stephens and Jenny Register Stephens.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Larry and Ann Swindall of Houston, Texas and Mike and Joyce Swindall of Troy; 5 grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 sisters, Grace Smith and Nell Stewart of Lagrange, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.

Willie Frank Thomas

Services for Willie Frank Thomas, 78, who died June 15, 2005 at Veteran Hospital in Montgomery will be at 12 p.m. June 23, 2005 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie L. Sankey, Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. June 22 at the funeral home.

Mr. Sankey was born April 2, 1927 in Pike County. He was a faithful member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee and Usher Board until his time of death.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Sophronia Ashley Williams; three step sons, James, L. J. and L. K. Hicks; sister, Jessie L. Shealey; two brothers, John C. Williams and Joe T. Williams.

Survivors include a friend, Hodie Mae Jones of Troy; step son and his wife, Albert and Gloria D. Hicks; two sisters, Mattie Williams of Uniondale, NY and Marjorie Holt of Stockbridge, GA; brother and his wife, James and Mary Williams of Uniondale, NY;26 nieces and nephews; 70 great- nieces and nephews; 24 great-great-nieces and nephews and several other relatives, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Floral bearers will be friends of the family.

James Rumph

A graveside service for James Rumph, 74, who died June 18, 2005 at Troy Regional Medical Center will be at 12 p.m. June 22, 2005 at Oak Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Earnest Green officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Rumph was born October 27, 1930 in Pike County. He retired from the Chevron Chemical Plant as a supervisor. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock Rumph and Estella M. James.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary L. Rumph of Troy; son, Willie L. Brunson of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Gwendolyn J. and Johnny Boswell of Troy and Mary A. Stinson of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Garry Rumph of Montgomery, Kenneth and Gwen Robinson of Montgomery, Marlon Brunson of Jacksonville, FL., Gregory Brunson of Memphis, Phillip Brunson of Memphis and Jonetta Brunson of Memphis; eight great-grandchildren; six brothers-in-law and several other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Floral bearers will be friends of the family.
