Olene Berry McLeod, born, Feb. 15, 1917 died June 6, 2005, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilkie R. McLeod and her brother, Merwyn Berry of Troy.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Richard B. and Kathy L. McLeod of Jack; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Edwin Lee of Ohatchee; son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Tammy McLeod of Glenwood; grandchildren, Vaughn and DeeAnn Lee of Heflin; Brian and Virginia McLeod of Jack, Jason and Dottie McLeod of Banks and Heather and Shane Phillips of Ohatchee; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Hilma Baggett of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, C.L. and Mattie Berry of Glenwood, Alabama; sister-in-law, Frances Berry of Troy.

Visitation for Mrs. McLeod will be Wednesday, June 8, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.  There will be a one hour lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be held at Springhill Baptist Church on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Neal Jackson and Reverend Mack Lowery officiating. 

Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

The pallbearers will be Brian McLeod, Jason McLeod, Vaughn Lee, Shane Phillips, Brian Beasley and Craig Berry. 

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Springhill Baptist Church and Nicholas Dunston.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Springhill Baptist Church or Hopewell Cemetery Fund.
