Frances Lois Gardner Best

Frances Lois Gardner Best, 65, of Montgomery died at her home Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, May 26, 2005, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Reverend James Knight officiating. The pallbearers will be Johnny Knight, Steve Mooney, R.D. Mooney, Robert &uot;Pooh&uot; Cobb, Eric Freeman and Steve Woodruff. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, in the Henderson Communtiy. The family requests that memorials be made to the Hopewell Cemetery Fund. Survivors include her husband, Chester Keith Best of Montgomery; daughter, Lois Ann Best (Daniel) Terry of Montgomery; two sons, Dean Keith (Rosemary) Best of Montgomery and Johnny Eugene (Darlene) Best of Deatsville; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; niece, Kimberly Diane Ferquson.

Marilyn (Twoie) Wright Curtis, 76, died Sunday, May 22, peacefully at her home in Montgomery.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday June 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. at

First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, with Dr. Karl Stegall officiating.

Visitation with the family will precede the memorial service at the church at 10 a.m.

She was a native of Troy and attended the University of Alabama where she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority and graduated with a degree in education. She moved to Montgomery after college where she taught 4th grade for several years. She was an active member of the Junior League and wonderful mother to her two children Jerelyn Tiller Lawley (Davis) and Mark Daniel Tiller, Jr.

Later in life Twoie met and married Fred Donald Curtis and moved to Pensacola, Florida where they had 13 wonderful years together until his death.

She returned to Montgomery and spent the remainder of her life enjoying time with her many friends, taking part in the activities at Cara Vita and being a loyal member of her Joy Sunday School Class at First Methodist Church.

Twoie was preceded in death by her father Dr. Edgar McBryde Wright, mother Mary Talbot Henderson Wright, sisters Marie Wright Pierce, Helen Wright Rose, Jerelyn (Onie) Wright Shelby, brother Edgar Clements Wright, and husband Fred Donald Curtis.

She is survived by her daughter Jerelyn Tiller Lawley (Davis), son Mark Daniel Tiller, Jr.,

sister

in law Carolyn Minard and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Twoie's memory to First United Methodist Church of Montgomery.
