W.F. &uot;Hoss&uot; Hurst

W.F. &uot;Hoss&uot; Hurst, 65, 629 Botts Ave., in Troy, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005, at Perdue Assembly of God Church in Jack with Rev. Ray Stinson and Rev. Hollis Bradley officiating. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service at Perdue Assembly of God Cemetery. Skeen Funeral Home of Troy is directing. Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

He was born March 25, 1940 in Worth County, Ga. His parents were the late Frederick Jermiah Hurst and Julia Ann Blalock Hurst. He was a retired auto mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Gail Hurst Allen, and his parents.

Survivors include three sons, Andy Hurst of Troy; J. R. Hurst of Seale; Tim Hurst of Phenix City; four daughters, Diane Smith of Deltona, Fla.; Karen Simmons of Fayetteville, Tenn.; Susan Michelle Parker of Troy; and Kathy Jo Allen of Troy; sister, Erlene Langley of Jack; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Abbi-Lynn Lewis

Infant Abbi-Lynn Lewis, of Brundidge, died at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Saturday, June 4, 2005 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Dr. John Brannon officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Survivors include, parents, Charles and Marsha Dawkins Lewis of Brundidge, brothers, Ronald Flowers of Troy, Tucker Floyd of Brundidge and Slade Lewis of Brundidge, grandparents, Mike and Mavis Flowers of Troy, great grandmother, Alma Dawkins of Troy, aunt and uncle, Kendra and Cliff Steed, Brundidge, Cousins, Hunter and Holt Steed of Brundidge.

Grace Starling

Grace Starling, 82, 3359 County Rd. 63, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Troy Regional Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, with Rev. Jimmy Eddins and Rev. Ellis Bowers officiating. She will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. prior to the service at the chapel. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge will follow the service.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005, at Skeen Funeral Home, Troy.

She was born May 13, 1923, in Kenmore, Ohio. Her parents are the late Wesley Berry and Agnes Henderson Berry. The retired homemaker was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Starling, two brothers, Robert Lamar Starling and James Derrill Starling, and her parents.

Survivors include daughter, Sara Sanders of Troy; eight grandchildren, Melanie Carr of El Paso, Texas; Jamey Lamar Sanders of Troy; Anthony Derrill Starling of Jay, Fla.; Terri Starling of Jay, Fla.; Harvey Dean Starling of Fitzpatrick; Robert Dean Starling of Fitzpatrick; Jeffrey Alan Sanders of Montgomery; James Dean Starling of Fitzpatrick; and 11 great-grandchildren.
