Hazel Lunsford Barbaree
Hazel Lunsford Barbaree, born November 14, 1923, in Troy, died April 11, 2005, at Troy Regional Medical Center.
Private family graveside services will be held for Mrs. Barbaree on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Bethany Baptist Church in Heath, Ala. Dillard Funeral Home of Troy will direct the services.
She is survived by her husband, William Barbaree of Troy; a son, J. Phillip Raley (Sara) of Opelika; two step-sons, William Barbaree of Troy, and Thomas Barbaree (Pam) of Newnan, Ga.;
two grandchildren, Jim Raley of Atlanta, Ga., and Leigh Raley Mims of Mobile.
She is also survived by one sister, Sara Morgan, of Troy, and several nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Leukemia Society in lieu of flowers.
Dell Carroll Hickman
Services for Dell Carroll Hickman, 57, of Chandler, Texas, who died Sunday, April 10, 2005, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Ray Stinson officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 15 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hickman was born April 24, 1947, in Dale County. She was a real estate agent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Lovie Carroll.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Hickman of Chandler, Texas; son and his wife, Ashley Thomas and Amy Waller of Little Elm, Texas; daughter, Sheri Hensley of East Alton, Ill.; grandchildren, Patrick and Sidney of East Alton; step-children, Sherrie Feagin and
Karen Thompson of Surfaceside, Texas; step-grandchildren Rachel, Brittany, Julia, Chelsa and Sam; step great-grandchild, Cherrie; brother and his wife, Dunn and Debbie Carroll of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; sister and her husband, Susan and Lynn Marsh of Winter Haven, Fla.; aunts, Sarah Keeler of Montgomery and Cindy Dunaway of Enterprise.
George Ellis Ingram
George Ellis Ingram, 80, of Banks, died at his home, Sunday, April 10, 2005.
Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a 30-minute lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be held at Enon Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mac Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Katherine L. Ingram of Banks; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kenneth Harden of Banks; son, Steve Ingram of Banks; grandchildren, Karla (Jeff) Harrison, Kimberly (Michael) Parrish, and Chris Ingram; sister and brother-in-law, Melva (Willie) Henderson of Banks; great-grandchildren, Gavin Parrish and Christian Parrish.
The family requests that memorials be made to Wiregrass Hospice.
Milton Jimmy Jordan
Milton Jimmy Jordan, 58, of Troy, died at his home in Troy, Sunday, April 10, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 2 p.m., with Minister Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park, in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include sons, James Jordan of Montgomery, Chad (Marcie) Jordan of Troy;
daughter, LeAnne Jordan of Troy; three grandchildren, Austin, Dalton and Ashlyn-Kate Jordan;
brothers, Conley (Charlene) Jordan of Troy, Melvin (Terrie) Jordan of Birmingham; sister, Linda (Bobby) Turner of Troy; special friend, Shirley Barron of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Audrey Jordan.
Sharon (Faulkner) Oakes
Sharon Faulkner Oakes, 46, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Graham (Texas) Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 3, at Faith Center Assembly of Gosh Church with Pastor Charlie Bazan officiating. Burial followed at Medlan Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Graham, Texas.
She was born Jan. 19, 1959, in Troy to Hezzie Junior and Irma Jean (Scarbrough) Faulkner. She graduated from Goshen High School. She married Ricky Oakes March 4, 1978, in Troy and moved to Graham in 1984 from Phenix City. She was a certified nursing assistant and a professional house cleaner. She was a member of Faith Center Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Oakes of Graham; two daughters, Amanda McFadden of Abilene, Texas, and Heather Oakes of Graham; a son, Brock Oakes of Graham; her parents, Junior and Jean Faulkner of Goshen; seven sisters, Christine Dillard, Marcia Hester, and Grace Henley, all of Troy, Margaret Faulkner and Wendy Easterling, both of Millbrook; Ann Qualls of Huntsville, and Jeannie Tedder of Bartow, Fla.; a brother, Johnny Faulkner of Henderson; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Micheal and Hailey McFadden.
Dixie Eula Bell Snell
Dixie Eula Bell Snell, 89, of Union Springs, died at Southern Springs Health Care in Union Springs on Sunday, April 10, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at
4 p.m., with Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Burial will follow at Darien Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Snell, her parents, Joe and Doina Ethel Golden and a sister, Lucille Jordan.
