Jessica Marie Brooks
Jessica Marie Brooks, 21, of Troy died at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005. Visitation was held at Dillard Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005
from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at 10 a.m.
with the Rev. Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Memorials can be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund or the Childrens Hospital in Birmingham. The pallbearers are Rodney Jordan, Greg Gibson, John Hasson, Van Hasson, Freddie Brooks and Marty Rotton. Survivors include her parents, Wayne and Cathy Ann Brooks of Troy, Sister, Dee Brooks of Troy and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Flossie Elizabeth Rodgers
Flossie Elizabeth Rodgers, 96, of Troy, died at Troy Health and Rehab in Troy Sunday, Feb.
6, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Steve Rascoe officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Survivors include, nieces and nephews, Maeola Griffen of Valpairso, Florida, Mary Decker of Bryant, Texas, Margaret Ming of Phenix City, Leavine Faulkner of Montgomery, Dorris Walker of Fairfax, Alabama, Gary Kilpatrick of Troy, Forrest Kilpatrick of Longview, Texas.
Flossie took care of her mother for 16 years alone and her blind daddy for 22 years.
Laurice McLeod Folmar
Services for Laurice McLeod Folmar, 85, of Troy who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Elam Primitive Baptist Church in Goshen with Rev. Craig Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb, 8. 2005, at the church.
Mrs. Folmar was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Glenwood. She was the owner of Owen Folmar Grocery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Owen Folmar; parents, Charles Alexander McLeod and Donie Lois Young McLeod; three brothers, Paskell McLeod, Wilkie McLeod and Charles Mack McLeod.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Ronnie Bradley of Troy; son, Larry Owen Folmar of Detroit, Mich.; adopted son and his wife, Jimmy and Mary Thornton of Huntsville; two sisters, Frances Jackson of Pine Level and Nona Lou Carlisle of Luverne; two grandchildren and husband, Cecelia Lynn and Eric Lavender of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Eric Owen Folmar of Prattville and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Register, Royce Stroud, Ramon Stroud, Richard McLeod, Dewayne Brown and Jack Jackson.
Betty Joyce Warrick
Services for Betty Joyce Warrick, 72, of Troy who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation was at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Fleetwood Baptist Church in Glenwood with the Rev. W. O. Sanders officiating.
Burial was in Emmaus City Cemetery in Luverne under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the church.
Mrs. Warrick was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Crenshaw County.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Riley Warrick; daughter, Merisia Warrick Griffin; grandson, Carl Timothy Warrick and here parents,
Herman Strickland and Lalah Bell Hawkins Strickland.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Andrew and Cheryl Warrick of Troy; grandson, Jason Warrick of Troy; sister, Annett Mosley of Columbus, Ga.; a granddaughter and three great-granddaughters.
Martha George Hall
Martha George Hall, 70, of Troy died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005. Funeral services were held on Monday Feb. 7, 2005, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Claude McRoberts offciating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Hall was born April 10, 1934. She was Valedictorian of her class at Sylvania High School. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated with at B.A. in Journalism and a minor in English and a minor in creative writing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lydia George, her brothers, Clyde, Curtis and Edward George, and her sister Lucille Williams. She is survived by her husband James W. Hall, brothers Jim, David and Floyd George, sister, Ima Buttram, one brother-in-law, Robert Hall, several nieces and nephews, and many great and great great nieces and nephews.
