Ella Jewell Waters
Ella Jewell Waters, 73, of Lebanon Junction, Ky., died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at her residence. Visitation in two states have been scheduled. Visitation was held at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction on Saturday, January 8, 2005, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and Sunday, January 9, 2005, from noon until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Kappel Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at 7 p.m., with Rev. Mike Rodgers officiating and Kappel Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will also be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brundidge on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Burial is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge.
She was the former Ella Jewell Reardon, a native of Routon, Ala., and a retired unit secretary for the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky. She was also a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Lebanon Junction.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Rena Reardon, brother, Bud Reardon; sisters, Lassie Mae Reardon and Jeanette Caldwell.
Survivors include, husband, Jesse J. Waters, Jr. of Lebanon Junction; son, James (Connie) Waters of Belmont, Ky.; daughters, Carol Waters and Mary Lou (Wade) Schroader, of Lebanon Junction, Ann (Lane) Ward of Brundidge; two sisters, Earlene Dansby of Brundidge and Genevea Wilson of Routon; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ward, Michael Waters, Steven Ward, Joe Waters, Dewayne Waters and Thomas Waters
Charles Mervin King
The funeral service for Charles Mervin King, 86, of Albany who died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Palmyra Nursing Home will be conducted Tuesday, at 11 a.m. (CST) at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Pike County (five miles west of Troy off Highway 29.). Rev. Wayne Locklar and Mr. Bill King will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Pike County, Mr. King had resided in Albany since 1958, moving here from Macon, Georgia. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a business degree and for a a number of years worked with Sears & Roebuck as Store Controller. He was the retired owner/operator of Maryland Fried Chicken, an avid golfer and former member of the Optimist Club in Birmingham. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. King was preceded in death by a son, David Mervin King.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Carter King of Albany; a son, Richard Carter King of Albany; a daughter, Angela King Brock of Oakfield, Georgia; two brothers, Curtis King and Bill King of Troy; a sister, Helen King Furlow of Walnut Creek, California; six grandchildren; Scott Charles Renfroe, Jason Lee Renfroe, Richard Luther King, Kimberly Renfroe Alford, Joshua Carter King and Courtney Garrison King and three great-grandchildren, Jacob William Alford, Laurel Ansley Renfroe and Jenna Kayley Alford.
A special thanks for the love and care given by Palmyra Nursing Home and Staff.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clara D. Yarbrough
Clara D. Yarbrough, 91, of Troy died Thursday, January 6, 2005, at Troy Health & Rehab. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2005, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Orion Street in Troy, with Sam Dunn officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
She was born March 21, 1913, in Pike County. Her parents were James Richard and Etta Lee Baker Day. She was a retired nurse. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Orion Street in Troy.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, James C. Yarbrough of Troy, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include son and wife, John and Kathleen Yarbrough of Troy; grandsons and wife, Michael L. and Kim Yarbrough of Buffalo, N.Y., Jonathan R. Yarbrough of Brundidge; granddaughter and husband, Katherine and John Keene of Meeksville; great-grandchildren, Jay and Emily Yarbrough of Buffalo, N.Y., Robin and Anna Sims of Meeksville, and Chloi Yarbrough of Brundidge; two step-great grandchildren, Amanda Keene of Troy and Marley Ellis of Brundidge; two step-great great grandchildren, and a brother, Clifton E. Day of Needmore.
Dorothy Reeves Green
Dorothy Reeves Green, 90, of the Youngblood Community, died at her home, Thursday, January 6, 2005.
Visitation will be at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Saturday, January 8, 2005,
from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Perry Green officiating. Burial will follow at Old Lebanon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Alex Whaley, Sr. of the Youngblood Community; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Alex and Suzi Whaley II of Montgomery; great grandchildren, Emma Whaley of Montgomery and Scout Whaley of Montgomery; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G.T. Green.
Pallbearers will be Walter Byars, Earl Herman, Hank Jones, John Key, Merrill Green, Lamon Merritt, Jr. and James Merritt.

Leona Harden King
Leona Harden King, 90, of Niceville, Fla., died in Niceville on Thursday, January 6, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Sunday, January 9, 2005
from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The will be a one hour lie-in-state prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be held at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Elder Cary Sanders and Reverend Averyt Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
She was employeed with Alpha Insurance for 28 years. She was an active hospital volunteer, in the local garden club and a member of Ramah Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Wade King.
Survivors include, daughter Glenda King (Jerry) Stokes of Niceville, Fla.; grandchildren, Traci Stokes of Niceville and Staci Stokes of Houston, Texas; step-granddaughter, Toni Keeslar of Niceville; two step-great grandchildren Ryan Keeslar and Mandy Gianotti (Dean); two step great great grandchildren, Dean Gianotti, Jr. and MacKenzie Gianotti; sisters, Ollie H. King of Troy and Doriss H. (Denzil) Floyd of Troy; brothers, E.E. Marzella Harden of the Ramah Community and John (Kate) Harden of the Ramah Community; and several nieces and nephews.
