Eduardo C. Juviel

Eduardo C. Juviel, 67, of Banks Highway in Troy died at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan on Tuesday, December 21, 2004.

Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, December 23, 2004,

from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Thursday, December 23, 2004, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gerald Maddox and Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Union Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors include very special friends, Hilda R. Griffin, Mike and Dale Griffin and family, Dave and Becky Kirby and family, A.D. and Ruby Ryals, all of Troy.

He had resided near the Grady Griffin family for the past 20 years.

He was a devoted friend and helper on the farm until his health failed some 15 years ago.

He attended Union Hill Methodist Church in Troy.

Melva Floyd Rogers

Melva Floyd Rogers, 83, of Troy died in Troy Wednesday, December 22, 2004. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, December 23, 2004

from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 2:30 p.m., with Reverend Bo Weed officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park, in Troy.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Newman, Griffin Mann, Ted Grimes, Lex Floyd, James Johnson and Foster Stephens.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy A. and Eleise Floyd of Troy; two granddaughters, Trecia (Tony) Kirkland of Dothan and Tina (Randy) Gardner of Troy; great-grandchildren, Clayton Morgan and Tory Kirkland; sisters, Mavis Smith of Andalusia and Mary Mann of Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law, James and Doris Newman of Troy; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Arnold D. Floyd and John H. Rogers.

Rita Lorraine Davis

Rita Lorraine Davis, 44, of Raleigh, N.C., died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2004, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel in Knightdale, N.C. Burial will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest. Family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545, and other times at the home of Barbara and Wayne Sloan, 5101 Haycourt Lane, Wendell, NC 27591.

Rita was born October 19, 1960, in Dothan.

For many years, she worked in office management.

Rita came to Wake County in November to be near her family and her doctors.

Up until this time, she had lived in Emerald Isle.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristin LaMarr Bunn of Raleigh; mother, Elizabeth Ann Green Trucks and her husband, Virgil Trucks of Birmingham; father, Jack B. Davis and his partner Ella Mae Golden of Troy; stepfather, Bobby A. Newman and his wife Doris of Dothan; grandmother, Lillian Green of Troy; sisters, Jackie Davis and her partner Tricia Taylor of Birmingham; Barbara Sloan and her husband Wayne of Wendell, N.C.; Cathy Lovvorn and her partner Eric Patterson of Raleigh; brothers, Brant Davis and his wife Mary and Denver, Colo.; Robert Newman and his wife Jan of Raleigh; fiance, Tony McNeill of Swansboro, N.C.; stepson, Kevin Bunn of Raleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and friends who dearly loved Rita.
