John &uot;Shorty&uot; Thomas

Services for John &uot;Shorty&uot; Thomas, 77, of Troy, who died November 15, 2004, at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery, will be held at 1 p.m. on November 21, 2004, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Troy, with the Reverend George Gilchrist Jr. officiating.

The burial will take place at the New Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Linwood. Visitation will be held at Harrison Funeral Home in Troy from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. on November 20, 2004.

He was born August 25, 1927, in Georgia. His parents were Warren and Annie Mae Thomas. He was retired from the Department of Transportation after working for 42 years. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carrie &uot;Fat&uot; Thomas, and a brother and a sister.

He is survived by his eight children: Richard Owens Jr. of Union Springs, Martha Ree Baker, Raymond (Jennifer) Baker, Mary D. Johnson, Sabrena (Sanford) Wingard, Michelle (Jimmy) Wilson, Deliah Baker, all of Troy; and James (Vivian) Baker of Dothan; one sister, Susie Mae Martin of Abbeville; one brother, Willie B. Thomas of Cincinnati; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. A devoted brother-in-law and best friend, Charles &uot;Mike&uot; Potts of Troy; and a devoted niece, Wanda Moultry of Troy.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons. Floral bearers will be friends of the family.

William Earl Stockman

A memorial service for William Earl Stockman, 26, who died in a traffic accident early Saturday morning, November 13, 2004, on Alabama Hwy. 87 in Troy, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2004, at Riverview Baptist Church, Hwy. 231 North in Troy, with Dr. Mallone Chandler and Minister James Wright officiating. Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

He was born April 24, 1978, in Arcadia, Fla. Survivors include his parents, Lewis V. and Kathy A. Stockman of Troy; brother, James &uot;Ox&uot; Stockman of Troy; nephew, Kevin W. Kilpatrick; nieces, Heather R. Kilpatrick and Amber Addine Stockman, all of Josie.
