Nadine Powell Starks

Services for Nadine Powell Starks, 42, who died Monday, October 11, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Lily White Church of the Living God in Brundidge with Pastor Martha Griffin officiating.

Burial will be in White Water Cemetery under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Powell was born February 23, 1962 in Brundidge. She was a graduate of Pike County High School, Class of 1980. At an early age she joined Lily White Church of the Living God.

Survivors include a husband, Amos Starks, Jr., of Troy; three children, Mashannan, Amos III and Joshua Starks all of Troy; four step children, Marcus (Tasheba), Tramaine and Byron Williams and Letarrius Bradberry all of Troy; two grandchildren, Joshuwa and Markyla both of Troy; mother, Mattie J. Powell of Troy; mother-in-law, Bulah Starks of Troy; four sisters, Brenda (Ronald) Lindsey of Montgomery; Berlinda and Arnita Powell and Kimela Walker all of Troy; three brothers, Eddie, Willie (Linda) and Jan (Marjion) Powell all of Troy; for sisters-in-law, Sarah Catherine Foster of Brundidge, Essie Starks of Troy, Willie Pearl King of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Julia (Hannibal) Twitty of Levittown, Pennsylvania; three brothers-in-law, James (Annie) Boswell and Ural (Angela) Starks of Troy and Johnny (Willie Lee) Starks of Brundidge and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family

Floral bearers will be friends of the family.

Ronald George Ropp

A memorial service for Ronald George Ropp, 61, of Brundidge who died October 10, 2004 at his residence was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Baptist Church with Chaplain Mike Deese officiating.

Keahey Funeral Home of Clio was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ropp was a U. S. Navy Vietnam Veteran having received the Vietnam Service Metal, National Defense Metal and other Navy metals and awards. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 290, VFW and a 15 year member of the Band's Color Guard.

Mr. Ropp was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a step father.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Norton Ropp of Brundidge; sons, Robin Ropp of Minnesota and Scott Ropp of Texas; daughter, Shawn Marie Ropp of Minnesota; step daughter, Jennifer Marie Ziglar of Brundidge; brothers, Rick Ropp of California and John Ropp of Michigan; step brothers, James Hatfield of Florida and Thomas Hatfield of Michigan; sister, Carol Snell of Ozark and six grandchildren.
